Work has started this weekend on the site of Scotch Corner Designer Village.
Workmen were at the location of the new shopping centre installing signage.
The centre is now due to open in 2020 after the developers put back an earlier proposed launch date of spring 2019.
The development is estimated to create more than 700 jobs.
84 shops will be built, along with eight cafes and restaurants.
There will be parking for more than 1,000 vehicles.
The scheme will be the fifth largest outlet centre in the UK, say the developers who describe the facility as “a ground-breaking international retail destination”.
