The best dressed windows and lighting displays for shops and businesses in Easingwold have been announced.

A competition to find the best displays and enhance the Christmas spirit was organised by Hambleton District Council’s Vibrant Market Town Team in partnership with Easingwold Town Council and the Wold Class Business Network.

Carolyn Frank, business development manager for the Federation of Small Businesses who judged the competition said, “What a difficult job I had.

“The windows especially were incredibly difficult to judge, there were five or six truly excellent efforts who could have all been winners.

“It is great to see the town is looking so festive and really welcoming to shoppers.”

The winner of the best dressed window display for the second year running is the wine, beer and spirits retailer Tipsy Fox and the winner of the best Christmas lights went to local independent caterer and delicatessen Ee By Yum.

A special prize was awarded to Bow House whose Christmas scarecrows were neither a window or lights display but were described as “brilliant” by judges.

The event forms part of Hambleton District Council’s Vibrant Market Towns initiative which focuses on developing projects that enhance the vibrancy of the district’s traditional market towns.
