Wensleydale Railway has announced its recent jazz train charity fundraising event raised £3,700 for charity.
The evening event was held on June 17 and included an auction of promises and raffle on board the train from Leeming Bar to Leyburn.
Peter Edmonds, band spokesperson, said: “It was great to see so many people support us.
“The evening was a huge success and we are delighted to have raised £3,700 in aid of Macmillan Nurses.
“This is the highest amount we’ve raised to date and shows just how much people care about this amazing cause.”
Bob Young, from the band, added: “On behalf of all the band members, we’d like to thank everyone who purchased tickets and supported the raffle and auction of promises.”
Nick Keegan, Wensleydale Railway fundraising and marketing manager, said: “We were very happy to host this event and support the band and guests with their tremendous fundraising efforts.
“We have such an amazing local community in North Yorkshire.”
