
A walker alerted the fire service to a fire in fields near Stokesley.
The incident in fields behind the Stripe was reported at about 2.45pm yesterday.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “A crew from Stokesley responded to an emergency call made by a walker who had spotted a fire in the open that was threatening to catch onto nearby shrubs.
“Upon arrival crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire, which measured approximately two by ten metres, and consisted of grassland.”
