Consultation on a Hambleton village plan has opened.

Hambleton District Council is asking local people for their views on the Ingleby Arncliffe Neighbourhood Plan.

Officials say this is residents’ chance to comment on the plan before it is examined by an independent inspector.

Under the Localism Act 2011 decision making powers were given to local councils and communities.

This enables them to make decisions on new houses, new services or commercial developments through the preparation of a neighbourhood plan.

The parishes of Ingleby Arncliffe and Ingleby Cross undertook their consultation on the plan in 2019/2020.

The Plan is hoped to tackle the issues around the lack of new housing and provide homes for young people, young families and elderly residents wanting to downsize.

The consultation runs from until February 22.
