A motorist was seriously injured in a collision on the A19 yesterday.
The incident occurred just south of the village of Thormanby, between Easingwold and Thirsk, at about 10.30am.
It involved a white Peugeot van, a black HGV and a green tractor.
All the vehicles were travelling north towards Thirsk.
The driver of the van, a man in his 50s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries where he currently remains.
The occupants of the other vehicles were uninjured.
Police are appealing for dashcam footage and information, including a key witness who stopped at the scene and said she may have captured the incident on dashcam.
However, the woman left before police arrived at the scene.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We are appealing for the key witness to come forward with their dashcam footage along with anyone else who saw the collision, saw the vehicles in the moments before, or has any dashcam footage.”
The road was closed to allow the casualty to be treated and investigators to examine the scene and recover the vehicles.
It reopened at 4.45pm.
