A van collided with a parked lorry on the A19 neat Thirsk this morning.
The truck was parked up in a lay-by when the accident occurred,
North Yorkshire Police said the van driver was not badly hurt in the crash.
A spokesman added: “The driver is ok however it would have been a different story if there had been a passenger.
“The van driver will be spoken to in due course. Always stay alert when you are driving any distances. When at all tired pull over and take appropriate breaks.”
Firefighters from Northallerton were called to the scene at about 6.30am but were not needed.
