UK Touring Car Championship comes to Croft

The TCR UK Touring Car Championship visits Croft next weekend.

The British Racing and Sports Car Club’s (BRSCC) TCR UK Weekend comes to Croft Circuit next Saturday and Sunday.

The headline act of the meeting will be the TCR UK Touring Car Championship.

Featuring production saloons powered by two-litre turbocharged engines, the popular series reaches its halfway point of the season and sees competitors line up on the grid for qualifying and round nine on Saturday before rounds 10 and 11 take place on Sunday.

Cupra driver Adam Shepherd heads north with the series lead following victory last time out in round eight at Oulton Park ahead of fellow Cupra pilot and reigning champion Carl Boardley with the pair certain to be fighting for the top spot at Croft.

There will be plenty of action for Ford fans as well with two Fiesta support series battling it out over the weekend. The BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship will see budding 14 to 17-year-old drivers face a triple-header with the Airtec Motorsport Fiesta ST240 Championship competitors also competing in their Mk7 Ford Fiesta ST180s.

Also lining up on the grid twice will be drivers in the Milltek Sport Civic Cup with two-litre Honda Civic Type R models contesting the honours with qualifying and round eight scheduled on Saturday and round nine on Sunday. Here, Max Edmundson is currently top of the standings from Josh Files and Alistair Camp.

The Audi TT Cup Racing Championship will battle it out in a doubleheader in the UK’s only one-make Audi series for the popular sporty coupe whilst the Mazda MX5 marque will be well represented over the weekend.

The Gaz Shocks Mazda MX5 Championship will take part in three, 20-minute races whilst the Downforce Radio Mazda MX5 Clubman Championship, which runs to a lower cost one-day format, will be racing twice on Saturday.

The Clapham North MOT Mazda MX5 Supercup, a single-make series for the mark three version of the popular sportscar, also faces a triple-header with former Croft rallycross winner Aiden Hills topping the leaderboard.

Track action starts at 9.30am on Saturday and 12noon on Sunday with a full programme on both days. Adult admission is just £18.00 on both days with accompanied children aged 15 and under admitted free.
