Two people cut free after car crashes into tree

Two people had to be cut free by firefighters are a car hit a tree today.

The incident happened at about 2.45pm in Clack Lane, Osmotherley.

Fire crews from Thirsk, Stokesley and Northallerton responded the single vehicle collision involving a VW Golf.

Two people were trapped in the front of the vehicle and had to be cut free by firefighters.

Two other casualties in the rear of the vehicle managed to get out on their own.

Three of the casualties were taken to hospital by road ambulance and one was flown by air ambulance.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshires Fire and rescue Service said: “The incident was left in the hands of the police.”
