Two injured in crash involving horse box

Two people were taken to hospital after a crash involving a horse box in Northallerton today.

The incident occurred on the B6271 Yafforth Road.

It involved a van and a pick-up truck pulling a horse box.

It happened at around 11.15am near Northdale Horticulture.

The man driving the van had to be freed by firefighters before he was taken to hospital for treatment.

The man driving the pick-up truck has also been taken to hospital.

A vet attended to check the two horses that were in the horsebox.

The stretch of road was closed while the scene was investigated, the vehicles were recovered and debris cleared away.

Witnesses or anyone with information about the collision are asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 1, and speak to the Force Control Room.
