The official Tour de Yorkshire trophies will visit Hambleton next month during their own tour of the county.
Bedale business leaders and residents are to get a sneak preview of the official ‘Tour de Yorkshire’ trophies next week.
The men’s and women’s trophies go on their own tour ahead of the May cycling race – spending a day in the town on Thursday March 7.
The bespoke gold Y’s will visit local schools, the leisure centre and railway station – and will be available for public viewing during an hour long stop at The Library from 4pm.
Designed and crafted by Yorkshire company, Thomas Fattorini Ltd, the trophies are taken to each of the eight 2019 race starts and finishes.
“We are very excited to be welcoming the trophies to Bedale next week,” said Council Leader, Councillor Mark Robson.
“Plans for celebrations to mark the race coming to the town are already well underway, work on dressing the route is taking shape and the general interest in this high profile event is building.”
- The second stage of the Tour de Yorkshire 2019 finishes in Bedale marketplace on Friday May 3.
