Tickets go on sale for Wensleydale Railway’s 2024 services

Tickets have gone on sale for Wensleydale Railway’s 2024 services, with prices held at 2023 levels.

The railway said it had decided not to increase its ticket prices this year, despite facing the challenge of rising costs.

The price-freeze also includes fish and chips trains and afternoon tea train events.

The railway ran several trains during the February half-term holiday, but its full running season officially begins on March 2 and runs until October 20.

The Polar Express train rides will run in November and December.

Nick Keegan, fundraising and marketing manager at Wensleydale Railway, said: “We are pleased to be able to keep all our scheduled train services, and our special food and drink events trains, at 2023 prices.

“Despite rising costs being the norm, we recognise the constant pressure that price increases place on our customers’ wallets.

“By keeping our train tickets at last year’s prices, we hope that this continues to make a visit to our railway an attractive leisure activity for our visitors.”

He added: “Our kids-for-a-quid travel offer continues this year

“This allows children to travel for only £1 on all our normal scheduled train services, excluding events.

“We also offer a 25 per cent travel discount to our local residents. Combining these offers give local families a great value day out on our volunteer-led heritage railway.”
