Police are appealing for information after a burglary at Appleton Wiske Village Hall on Front Street.
A shed was entered and several small children’s bikes and trikes were stolen, along with a yellow table and chairs.
It is believed the incident took place between Monday, February 3 and Thursday, February 13.
The items belonged to the village pre-school.
They said in a post on social media: “This is so sad as we are a charity and rely a lot on fundraising.
“The last few fundraisers we have done have been to raise money for our outside garden area and to purchase new tricycles and outdoor equipment for the children.
“The thieves must have come across fields and jumped our fence, damaging the fence in the process then carrying their hand picked items back across the field as our gate is padlocked.”
If anyone has any information about this crime or any suspicious activity in the area, please report to the police immediately on 101 quoting incident number 12200025526.
