Stuck cat “self-vacates” roof as firefighters prepare for rescue

A cat reported to be stuck on a roof got down as firefighters prepared to rescue the animal.

A crew from Thirsk was called to Sowerby this morning just before 8am

They attended after a report of a cat that had been stuck on a roof for three days and four nights.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “As the crew set up the triple extension ladder the cat panicked and self-vacated the roof.”
