Firefighters were called out last night after a stolen van was set alight.
The incident happened in Haggit Hill Lane, East Rounton, at about 11.30pm.
Fire crews from Stokesley and Northallerton responded to reports of a single vehicle road traffic collision.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Upon investigation this was believed to be a stolen van which had been set alight in a field.
“The van was left to burn out from a safe distance due to difficult access.”
The incident was left with the police.
