Stokesley man banned for drug driving

York Magistrates' Court.

A Stokesley man has appeared in court for drug driving.

Gareth Parkinson, 28, from The Stripe, was arrested on the A684 at Leeming Bar on April 15, 2021.

Tests showed he had cannabis and cocaine in his system.

He was also found to have been driving without insurance.

The defendant pleaded guilty to all charges when he appeared at York Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

Parkinson was banned from driving for 22 months.

He was also given a community order which requires him to do 70 hours of unpaid work over the 12 months, and pay a £180 fine.
