The road is closed between Stokesley and Hutton Rudby following a serious collision.
Police, the fire service and an air ambulance helicopter have attended the scene.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: “Due to a serious collision between Stokesley and Hutton Rudby near Tame Bridge, the road is currently closed.
“The road to Seamer is also closed.
“The road is expected to remain closed for a number of hours. Please avoid the area.”
