Reward offered for missing pet sheep Blossom

Missing sheep Blossom.

A reward has been offered for the safe return of a pet sheep which is believed to have been stolen.

The owners of Blossom, a Texel ewe, say they are devastated after the sheep vanished last Tuesday.

It was taken from a field in Little Langton, near Northallerton.

Owner Jane Bennett, who runs Hill House Farm Cottages holiday site, has offered a £500 reward for the return of the sheep.

They are asking for information on the occupants of a white van seen in the area at the time.

Jane said: “We have had to piece this together ourselves, but a van in a nearby village with three men in their 30s to 40s were seen by two different witnesses looking over fences at a farm and then at a small holding the same morning that Blossom was taken.

“We also have an eyewitness account of the same van driving away from our property in a reckless manner, plus CCTV of the van passing by a neighbour’s house further down the road.”

The van is a white Ford Transit, registration EA13 LUW.
Jane said she had been told by North Yorkshire Police there was little they could do because nobody saw Blossom being stolen.

“They apparently can’t even go to their property to ask questions or ask to look at the van.

“We are infuriated and also heartbroken thinking of what fate she may have endured.”

Anyone with information should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting reference 12240146874.
