A 21-year-old from Thirsk has become the youngest woman to row solo across the Atlantic Ocean.
Swimming teacher and part-time bartender Jasmine Harrison set off on her 3,000-mile (4,828km) challenge from La Gomera in the Canary Islands in December.
Yesterday, she docked in Antigua completing the journey in 70 days, three hours and 48 minutes.
Jasmine decided to sign up for the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge three years ago after watching the finale of the 2017 event.
Two days before reaching the finish line Jasmine capsized and she injured her elbow.
During the crossing, she would row for two hours and sleep for two hours at a time.
Jasmine was still able to speak to her mother every day via satellite phone.
After completing the challenge Jasmine told her supporters the journey had been “everything she could of wished for”.
A spokesperson for her support team Rudderly Mad said: “She would like everyone to know that she enjoyed her shower, looked at herself in the mirror for the first time in a while, discovered lots of bruises and demolished her beer and burger!”
She now has a day of media appearances including the BBC and Sky News.
Jasmine has raised more than £15,000 for charities ShelterBox and the Blue Marine Foundation by completing the challenge.
You can still donate to the charities here.
