Poll cards for the May local elections are being delivered to registered electors from next week.
Everyone on the current electoral register should receive them from March 20.
District and Parish elections take place for Hambleton district on Thursday May 2. All 28 seats – representing 17 wards on Hambleton District Council – will be up for election as well as 496 seats representing 77 Parish Councils.
Residents who are not registered to vote still have time to apply by visiting www.gov.uk/registertovote or by contacting 01609 779977. The last day to submit an application to register to vote in the May elections is midnight on Friday 12 April.
The deadline to apply for a postal vote for electors who are registered to vote is Monday 15 April at 5pm – contact the district council on 01609 779977.
Next week – on March 19 – the election timetable also starts when the official Notice of Election is published. That includes details of electoral areas, the number of councillors and information for prospective candidates.

The deadline to submit completed candidate nomination forms is 4pm on Wednesday 3 April. Information on candidates standing for these elections will be available after this time at www.hambleton.gov.uk/elections or at the Civic Centre in Northallerton and on parish noticeboards.
