Police release name of pedestrian killed in Northallerton collision

Pauline Thomas died in a collision on Friday.

Police have released the name of a pensioner killed in a collision in Northallerton last week.

Pauline Thomas, 84, from Crowood Avenue, Stokesley, died in an incident in the town on Friday.

Pauline’s family said in a statement released by police that they were devastated by her “sudden and horrific” death.

They thanked the emergency services and members of the public who attended the scene and cared for Pauline, as well as those who supported family members, both at the scene and afterwards.

The collision occurred on Brompton Road, near Kwik Fit, at around 12 noon on Friday and involved a blue Scania HGV.

Police said the driver of the HGV, a man in his 50s from the Catterick area, was uninjured and was now assisting police with their enquiries.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, or who saw the vehicle prior to the collision, is asked to contact police.
