Police have made a fresh appeal for information after a fire at allotments in Romanby which destroyed a shed erected as a memorial to a popular local man.
The incident happened on April 17.
Police say the arson attack to a shed has upset the local community due to a link with a local cancer charity.
Following the death of local man Bren from cancer, the community shed was erected.
It was used by plot owners to shelter during bad weather.
There was also a storage area for items picked prior to despatch.
A memorial was set up in the name of Bren with Herriot Hospice Homecare and ‘The Allotmenteers’ on site have been growing vegetables for the charity in memory of Bren.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “If you do have any information at all that can lead us to the apprehension of the person responsible please contact us on 101 quoting incident 12210100309 or, give anon information via Crimestoppers website.
“Your help is needed.”
