Police issue appeal after Danby Wiske burglary

Thousands of pounds worth of equipment was stolen in a burglary near Northallerton this morning.

Thieves drove over fields in two 4×4 pickup-type vehicles and broke into secure outbuildings at Danby Wiske.

The incident happened between midnight and 5.30am today.

They stole a Beta Evo 2016 trials bike, an Ifor Williams tipping trailer, an Ifor Williams plant trailer, 2,000 litres of white diesel and tank, and a TP 250 PTO Wood Chipper 2020.

The wood chipper is a rare piece of equipment not widely found in this country.

Police say the stolen property is worth tens of thousands of pounds.

They are urging members of the public to be on the lookout for valuable stolen machinery taken during the burglary.
