Police in Northallerton have urged motorists to lock their vehicles and keep valuables out of view following a spate of thefts.
Northallerton Neighbourhood Policing Team said they would like to reassure residents in Northallerton and Romanby after there has been a rise in thefts from motor vehicles recently.
Officers said the thefts were mostly occurring from insecure vehicles and include items left on display within the vehicle.
A spokesperson said: “We would urge residents to remove valuables from vehicles and ensure that all doors are locked and windows closed.”
The latest incident occurred on Tuesday night last week when a vehicle was entered and items taken in Broomfield Avenue.
