Police appeal after man assaulted by suspected poachers

Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted by suspected poachers in the village of Newby near Stokesley.

It happened on Bromley lane at around 12.30am on Wednesday, October 25 when the man was assaulted when he came across four men with a white, lurcher-type dog.

The victim suffered serious facial injuries and was treated at hospital later that day.

Officers are appealing to anyone who may have seen the four men in the Newby area late on the evening of Tuesday, October 24 and the early hours of Wednesday morning, along with any suspicious vehicles.

They are also appealing to anyone who may have captured the men or their vehicle on dashcam footage or private CCTV/doorbell cameras.
