A person was hit and killed by a train at Northallerton today.
Services in both directions on the East Coast Mine Line were stopped while the emergency services worked at the scene.
Trains were unable to run between between York and Newcastle / Middlesbrough / Sunderland, however they have now resumed.
#York – The emergency services are dealing with an incident between York and Darlington / Yarm, resulting in all lines being blocked.
There is currently no estimate as to when the line will reopen, however we expect trains to remain disrupted until 15:30.
