York Magistrates' Court.

A pensioner has lost her licence after being caught drink driving three days in a row.

Police arrested Rita Walker, 74, of Thorntree Road, Northallerton, on August 13, 14 and 15 last year.

Each time, tests proved she was over the drink drive limit.

The defendant was stopped in her Mercedes at Norby, near Thirsk, on August 13, on the A19 Bagby crossroads on August 14 and at Coxwold on August 15.

Mrs Walker appeared in York Magistrates’ Court yesterday where she pleaded guilty to three charges of drink driving.

She was banned from driving for 12 months and ordered to pay fines and costs totalling £825.
