Painted stones hidden in Bedale ahead of Tour de Yorkshire visit

Ten hand painted stones have been hidden around Bedale to celebrate next month’s visit of the Tour de Yorkshire to the town.

Created by members of the town’s leisure centre team, local people are urged to look for them, take a photo and post it on social media and then re-hide them for the next person to find.

Everyone who posts a photo on the leisure centre’s Facebook page will be entered into a prize draw for a family swim.

It is one of a range of activities organised by Bedale Leisure Centre team for the next month – the Firby Road facility has been decorated blue and yellow, and a cycling challenge organised.

And a massive 54 bikes have been collected over the last two weekends when the centre opened up as a donation point for the Yorkshire Bike Library.

Bedale hosts finishes of the ladies and men’s Tour de Yorkshire races on Friday 3 May   – day two of the annual race.
