The emergency services were called to reports of a two-vehicle collision on the A19 last night.
The incident happened at about 8.10pm on the northbound carriageway between Ellerbeck and the Cleveland Tontine.
Crews from Northallerton, Thirsk and Ripon responded to the collision.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “This incident involved a VW Golf which was towing a trailer with a VW Golf estate on it, which had come to rest in a ditch.”
Two occupants of the vehicle were out on arrival of the fire service and were treated by the ambulance service for minor injuries.
