Northallerton stage school expands to new site

A performing arts school is to expand to a new site in Northallerton.

AJ Stage School has been running their Saturday morning stage school in the town for ten years.

From October 12, AJ will expand to a new site to incorporate their new class AJ Seniors, which will be specifically for ages 11 to 18 years old.

The senior class will focus on developing further techniques, more challenging pieces and producing musicals which are more suitable for an older age range.

AJ Seniors will be held in a studio on Thirsk Road, near their existing site at Sacred Heart Church Hall, also on Thirsk Road.

The existing site will host AJ Juniors specifically for children aged four to 10.

Aimee Turnbull, leader of AJ Stage Schools says “The stage school has brought joy to students, parents and our staff for many years now, to hear school reports from our students noticing their increase in confidence, friendship making and schoolwork makes the experience all the better.

“Our school focuses on enjoyment and experience, our soft approach to teaching is something all of our children really resonate with and the relationship they’re able to build with their peers really shines through from their performances on and off stage.

“The addition of AJ Seniors gives our older students the chance to expand their knowledge, grow as performers and work on some of their favourite musicals such as SIX and Mean Girls the Musical, we can’t wait to get started.”
