A Northallerton store will host a fashion show with a difference tonight.
Ten people with learning disabilities will model clothes at M&Co from 7pm.
Organiser Jackie Fenwick, from Mencap, said: “M&Co have been amazing helping them to choose there outfits.
“This is a first for the store who hold numerous fashions show but when I suggested having the show with people with learning disabilities they jumped at the chance.
“Most of our models and the people we support buy there clothes there anyway so it seemed an ideal situation to raise funds for two local groups which support the community.”
The first is Gateway Club which takes place on a Friday night and this brings together people from Northallerton and surrounding areas to socialise and participate in activities together.
The second is Hands and Voices which again brings people with learning disabilities together to sing and sign using Makaton to music.
“This brings so much fun and pleasure not only to them but also the many homes and venues they perform at,” Added Jackie.
The show starts at 7 pm on tonight.
Entry is £3 on the door and there will be a raffle.
