Police say an offender has been identified after offensive messages were written in marker pen on vehicles in Northallerton.
Numerous cars parked in the streets around County Hall and the railway station were vandalised.
The offensive messaged requested that the vehicle owner parked elsewhere.
A spokesperson for Northallerton police said: “Following enquires and investigations into these matters an offender has been identified who fully admitted the offence and is being dealt with accordingly.
“This is another example of the police and local community working in partnership.”
Police say the offer was dealt with using a dealt with through a community resolution disposal.
