Northallerton man stole gold rings worth £4,000

A Northallerton man has been sentenced for stealing four gold rings worth £4,000.

David Norman Raisbeck, 40, of Prospect View, Northallerton, appeared in York Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

He had admitted stealing the four rings from the town’s Market Cross Jewellers on September 20, 2022 at an earlier hearing.

On Friday, he was given a five-month prison sentence, suspended for 18 months.

He was ordered to pay compensation totalling £4,000 and a victim surcharge of £154.
