Northallerton business taken over by Swedish company

Northallerton-based JW Installations UK Ltd has been taken over by the Swedish-based Tornum Group.

JWI has been the UK’s exclusive distributor for the Tornum products for nearly a decade.

Bosses say they will remain an independent subsidiary and will continue to operate as normal with directors James and Charles White at the helm.

JWI director, Charles White, said: “Having worked closely with Tornum for many years we welcome this opportunity to join forces.

“The two companies already share a secure foundation of trust and collaboration which will facilitate a smooth transaction into this new phase.

“Our customers can continue to rely on the same exceptional level of expertise and service they have come to rely on over the last 50 years but with the added strength and resources derived from being the market leader.

“We have no doubt that our customers, existing and new alike, will greatly benefit from this integration.”

Tornum CEO, Nicklas Margård: “We are delighted to have acquired JWI from the White family.

“The acquisition will allow for a combination of product lines, and this coupled with JWI’s excellent service and sales network will allow both parties to grow within the UK marketplace.

“Having worked closely with JWI for many years it is a logical step to further deepen our business relationship and develop the UK market together. I see this as a positive step for all parties involved, and I believe it generates benefits to our customers.

“We can now provide a wider range of products and offer Tornum’s and JWI’s combined knowledge of grain handling solutions to our customer base.”

JWI are a second generation family run business with 50 years experience specialising in grain dryer plants and associated solutions for both agricultural and industrial applications.
