Northallerton art exhibition showcases emerging talent

Work by Yorkshire’s next generation of artists is now on display at Emerging Journeys, a new exhibition by the Scott Creative Art Foundation (SCAF),

The exhibition will showcase the work and stories of 25 previous winners of the Emerging Artist Awards.

It will take place at SCAF’s new venue The Fire House at the former North Yorkshire Regional Fire and Rescue Headquarters, Northallerton.

The exhibition runs until February 28.

The event aims to explore the artists’ journeys from their early recognition to their current success, highlighting how Yorkshire’s vibrant arts scene and landscapes have shaped their work as well their experiences of working with the Scott
Creative Arts Foundation.

Organisers say the exhibition offers a rare glimpse into the development of some of Yorkshire’s most exciting artists.

Established in 2016 by Sue Armstrong, the Scott Creative Arts Foundation (SCAF) is a North Yorkshire arts-based charity dedicated to supporting emerging artists and preserving the creative legacy of Michael and Eileen Scott.

Based in Thirsk, SCAF runs initiatives like the annual Emerging Artist Awards and The Art House, which holds over 1,200 artworks and artefacts from the Scotts.

Entry is free.
