Northallerton and Bedale building society branches invite community to charity coffee mornings

Skipton Building Society’s Northallerton and Bedale branches are stirring up support and inviting the community to join them for this year’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

On Friday 29 September the branches, located on Northallerton High Street and North End, Bedale, are serving up something sweet in hope of baking smiles for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The branches will be offering sweet treats and a brew from 9.30am to 12pm and the cherry on the cake would be to see the community join them in their bid to raise as much cash as a possible for a worthy cause.

Money raised through the Worlds Biggest Coffee Morning goes towards funding its nurses, grants and running its vital services supporting people affected by cancer.

Jayne Tomlinson, Skipton’s manager of both Bedale and Northallerton branch, said “We are excited to be welcoming the community to branch for a cuppa and cake. We really hope to highlight the great work that Macmillan does within our community and raise funds along the way.

“Having personally benefited from the amazing work that they do, it is something incredibly close to my heart. The Macmillan nurses were a huge support during my dad’s fight with cancer, who sadly passed away in July this year. Not only were they there to support him through his end-of-life care, but they were also instrumental in supporting me and my family during a very difficult time.

“Sadly, I’m not the only person who has lost a loved one to cancer, many of our colleagues and customers have had their own experiences. So as a team we felt like we just had to do our bit with this year’s World Biggest Coffee morning.”
