A new grant scheme to help the local economy bounce back from the effects of the pandemic has been launched by Hambleton District Council.
It has allocated £150,000 to a new capital grant fund programme for 2022/2023 for projects in Bedale, Easingwold, Great Ayton, Northallerton, Stokesley, Sowerby and Thirsk.
Not for profit organisations – as well as town and parish councils – can apply for grants of between £25,000 and £50,000 for capital infrastructure projects.
“This new scheme will further help our communities return to as normal as they can after the pandemic,” said council leader, Councillor Mark Robson
“The new scheme will support capital infrastructure projects that drive economic recovery and help boost the local economy and benefit people who visit, live and/or work in the district.”
Successful applications need to demonstrate how the project contributes to the economic sustainability of the area, that it represents value for money, and is supported by a local Ward Member.
Applications opened today and close on 30 January 2022, with decisions announced in March 2022
