Motorcyclist stopped after riding at 144mph on A19

A motorcyclist has been stopped by police after being recorded travelling at 144mph.

This bike has been seized after the incident on the A19 at Easingwold.

It was captured by a police safety camera van at 1.45pm on Saturday.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: “Officers in the area deployed immediately and it was stopped at Shipton by Beningbrough a few minutes later.”

The bike was seized for having no insurance.

The rider, from the County Durham area, was reported to court for speeding and using a motor vehicle without insurance, and issued with a section 59 warning for anti-social riding.
