Runners are wanted for a festive fun run.

Darlington Mind’s first charity 5km will be held on December 1 in South Park, Darlington.

The Mental Elf festive fun run is for runners and walkers of all ages and abilities and aims to bring people together to fundraise and raise awareness of mental health and wellbeing.

Darlington Mind is a local branch of the national Mind charity, serving Darlington, Hambleton, Richmondshire and South Durham.

It provides professional support and recovery services and activities for people experiencing mental health problems.

The charity relies on its own funds to support people in the local area.

Simon Davidson, CEO of Darlington Mind, said: “We are proud to follow in the footsteps of 40 other communities who have been running for their local Minds over the last 10 years. Wellbeing is boosted by physical activity and bringing people together. Come and join in the fun.”

Booking for the event is now open and both family and team discounts are available.

Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome and festive fancy dress is encouraged.
