Men in court after robbery at Northallerton dessert shop

Two men have been arrested after a robbery at a Northallerton cafe.

The incident took place at the Dolcie Dessert Emporium on Zetland Street in Northallerton at about 7pm on Sunday, August 4.

The tips jar and some perishable goods were taken.

Following enquiries with support from Cleveland Police and British Transport Police, three men from Middlesbrough were arrested in connection with the incident on Monday.

Two of the suspects, 48-year-old Graham Simms and 38-year-old Joseph Spencer, both of no fixed address in Middlesbrough, have been charged with robbery.

They appeared at York Magistrates’ Court today.

They have been remanded in custody and will appear at Teesside Crown Court next month.

A 42-year-old man was released without charge.

Witnesses to the incident or anyone with information that could assist the investigation are still urged to come forward.
