Man walking home from work suffers life-threatening injuries in attack

A man suffered life-threatening injuries after being attacked on his way home from work in Northallerton.

Police are appealing for information about the serious assault which took place between 4am and 4.47am on Sunday.

Detectives say the man was walking home from his workplace when he was assaulted by four men.

It is believed that the assault took place somewhere between Northallerton Leisure Centre and The Crown Inn on the junction of Northallerton Road and Lead Lane.

A police spokesperson said: “The man was left with serious, life-threatening injuries.”

“In particular, we are appealing for any sightings of the man or anyone else who was in the area at the time.

“We also ask that if anybody has any dashcam footage or CCTV footage from the area at, or around the time of the incident to come forward.”

The victim is white, in his early 40s, 5ft 6in with a proportionate build and grey hair.
