Man suffers serious head injuries after assault outside Northallerton bar

A man suffered serious head injuries after being attached outside a Northallerton bar.

The incident happened outside ZOO at around 2am on Friday, August 5.

Police say the victim, a local man aged in his late 20s, was taken to hospital by ambulance with serious head serious injuries which has resulted in ongoing treatment.

The suspect, a 32-year-old man from Northallerton, left the scene but was arrested for the assault a short time later.

He has been released on conditional police bail while enquiries continue.

Police say they are asking for the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

In particular, they are appealing for information from anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward as soon as possible.
