Man arrested after Northallerton disturbance

A man has been arrested following a disturbance in Northallerton.

Police were called at just before 1am on Friday, April 22 to reports of damage to a property.

On arrival officers were made aware of further instances of damage to vehicles and properties in the same area.

Officers arrested a 19-year-old man on suspicion of criminal damage.

He has since been interview and released under investigation.

David Hunter, Chief Inspector for Hambleton and Richmondshire has commented: “This appears to be an isolated incident and there is no cause for community alarm.

“Following the incident neighbourhood policing officers have engaged with residents in the area to provide reassurance.”
