Investigation launched after buildings damaged by fire

An investigation will take place today after a fire in Stokesley.

Firefighters from the town responded to a number of calls about a fire in the open at about 10.10pm on Tuesday.

The fire involved three wooden sheds, a metal shed and a green house.

The fire also spread to a number of trees, bushes and undergrowth.

An appliance from Coulby Newham and another from Northallerton attended the scene.

Crews extinguished the fire using two breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, thermal imaging camera and small tools.

North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said the cause would be investigated in daylight hours.
