Hunton Steam Gathering organisers hoping for biggest event yet

The annual Hunton Steam Gathering, a festival celebrating all things vintage, returns next weekend.

The event, which celebrates over 100 years of agricultural and motoring heritage, is held on farmland on the outskirts of Hunton.

The success of the 2023 festival meant that over £9,000 could be donated to local charities and causes.

Vintage and classic vehicles of all shapes and sizes will be present over the weekend.

Organisers say 2024 will see an increased number of entries to all sections.

The craft and food market continues to grow with many local suppliers and producers trading all weekend at the show.

A large autojumble will offer the opportunity to have a rummage through tools, equipment and vehicle-related parts.

An impressive array of vintage fairground attractions will include various rides and side stalls including a big wheel, steam powered gallopers and chair-o-planes.

Continuous entertainment in the main arena will include Walworth Castle Birds of Prey, North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service, Pennine Carter Bernese Mountain Dogs, classic car driving demonstrations, children’s tug-of-war competitions and more.

Throughout the weekend, a pair of Fowler Steam powered ploughing engines will be working to plough and cultivate the land.

The steam ploughing engines will be accompanied by a horse ploughing demonstration and a vintage ploughing match on the Saturday.

Live entertainment on the Friday and Saturday nights will keep all those camping on site entertained throughout the evenings.

The entry prices have been maintained at £10 for adults and £5 for children (free for under 5s).
