Herriot Hospice Homecare is urging anyone who missed out on a place in the Great North Run to take one of their charity places.
The event takes place on Sunday, September 7.
It’s dubbed to be the world’s most iconic half marathon, and the 13.1-mile route attracts tens of thousands of runners from all over the world each year.
Herriot Hospice Homecare has a limited number of places available and has an early bird rate of £28 when using code ‘2025’ at checkout.
There is a minimum sponsorship target of £300.
As part of Team Orange, all runners receive a fundraising pack and branded technical t-shirt or running vest.
They are encouraged to visit the charity’s marquee in the charity village to rest and refuel after crossing the finish line.
Leonie Houching, community and events fundraiser for Herriot Hospice Homecare, said: “As the ballot is now closed and many people haven’t secured a place, we’re encouraging anyone who wants to take on this incredible challenge to sign up with us as soon as possible.
“Running as part of Herriot Hospice Homecare’s team means you’re not only taking on an iconic race but also making a meaningful difference in your local community.”
