Great Ayton History Society (GAHS) is marking its 20th anniversary year with three, free-to-attend presentations on various aspects of the village history in February and March.
All events will be held in the Friends Meeting House on High Green and begin at 7.30pm on the scheduled dates.
The events are:
Great Ayton at War (WW2)
Jill Atkinson/David Taylor will introduce guests to two villagers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of their country and evidence of wartime installations remaining in Great Ayton
Wednesday, February 12
Our Village 1911
Ken Taylor/ Brian Pearce will take guests back 109 years to Great Ayton before the Great War
Wednesday, March 11
Great Ayton Mills
Expert Peter Morgan will help guests explore the various mills that kept the village industry and economy turning
Wednesday, March 25
Complimentary coffee, tea and biscuits will be served after each presentation though donations to society funds will be welcome.
