The emergency services were called after a young girl was injured when she fell from a tree.
The incident happened on Thursday evening near Osmotherley.
The Yorkshire Ambulance Service and members of the Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team (CMRT) attended the incident.
The girl suffered a leg injury in the fall.
CMRT said a team Land Rover and several team members were dispatched from various locations.
A spokesperson added: “When the Land Rover crew arrived they were able to unlock the gates at the south end of Cod Beck Reservoir to then drive along the track on the dam wall.
“That allowed us to get very close to where the casualty was already being treated by the YAS crew, who had walked in from the roadside.
“They were then able to relocate their ambulance to that location and, once the girl had been checked over by a team doctor, we carried her on a scoop stretcher a very short distance to the nearby ambulance.
17 CMRT volunteers were involved in the rescue.
