Funding available for Hambleton community groups

A housing associations has grants of up to £500 available to Richmondshire and Hambleton good causes and community groups.

The Broadacres Community Development Fund awards grants to charities and projects in areas where the organisation has housing.

The outcomes of the applications are agreed by a small group of volunteer tenants, rather than Broadacres staff.

They meet quarterly to review all the applications.

Meetings are held in March, June, September and December.

Examples of recent awards that have covered the costs of:

  • New jackets for members of the Northallerton Young Fire Fighters to use while supporting community events.
  • Community Christmas Lunch provided by Colburn Hub & Café.  This scheme was set up to reduce isolation and loneliness.
  • Romanby WI running costs for their award winning Scarecrow Festival
  • Respite Training for Herriot Hospice Homecare Volunteers
