Free parking on Thursdays for Christmas

Car parking across Hambleton will once again be free every Thursday in the run up to Christmas.

There will be no charge to shoppers in all district council operated car parks every Thursday throughout December –  and each day from 25 December until 1 January.

“We hope our ‘Free Thursdays 2019’ will benefit shoppers and businesses alike in all our market towns right across the district in the run up to Christmas Day,” said Councillor Isobel Sanderson, portfolio holder for governance.

“The free festive free parking affects over 900 parking bays across the district council’s car parks.

“It applies not only to Thursdays in December but also over the festive period from Christmas Day to New Year’s Day, which is perfect for residents and visitors wanting to top up their festive shopping or pick up a bargain in the sales.”

“We do ask car park users to remember that parking time limits still apply in our dedicated short stay only car parks at Market Place Thirsk, Applegarth short stay and Forum short stay in Northallerton.”

The district council no longer manages Crosby Road car park in Northallerton which is not subject to free parking.
